I don't know why I'm binge watching tv series when I'm supposed to get my online sessions ready for tmr. I also don't know why The Chair is underrated here.
The dialogues are witty and clever, the acting natural, creative and in-depth, the plot fast-paced, tangled and entertainmenting but not at all pretentious or cliche.
What’s more, it's like a dagger stabbing the elephant in the room with academic integrity and audacity. There’s been a poisonous trend lurking around which has caused the unexpectedly uncontrollable fear for suppression of free speech and rationale concerning the big issues. This drama may not have given a lengthy and eloquent lecture on institutional reform but it has provided its own answer. It's honest. It has social conscience. It deserves intellectual consideration and serious discussion.
Echoing its setting and context, it’s surprisingly beautiful for it’s full of love and English literature. It’s a hopeful representation of life itself.
