Plot Summary:Kotaro Toyohara has finally reached retirement after many years of hard work as a civil engineer. He purchases a ring as a gift to his wife Yoko who has supported him throughout his career, planning to give it to her over dinner. However, before he has a chance to give it, she suddenly asks for a divorce. The drama examines married life from the differing perspectives of husband and wife, and sheds light on the growing phenomenon of divorce in old age.
迎来花甲之年高高兴兴退休的丰原幸太郎（渡哲也饰），但退休当天夜里，已经和他结婚35年的妻子洋子（松坂庆子饰）却突然提出离婚。年纪轻轻就嫁给幸太郎的洋子，希望能卸下妻子、母亲这样沉重的枷锁，尝试做一个独立自主的女人。幸太郎并不了解妻子的想法，认为她背叛了家庭。原本和睦的一家人开始产生裂痕。
