Plot Summary:The farmsteads of the Great Plain are the treasures of European settlement history. The question is how long they will stay. It is a fact that in Hungary the farm world has been dying for decades. More than one-third of the farms in the Great Plain are elderly, often incapacitated, completely isolated from the outside world. Their living conditions are often worse than those of people living in distant, exotic Third World countries. All this in 2014, in the heart of Europe. The survival of the farm world, and often the survival of the people living there, would be almost impossible without the various custodial services and their charismatic staff that have been operating in Hungary for more than twenty years and supplying the people living on the farms with virtually everything they need. Our film presents the often heroic daily lives of these dedicated people, while providing a comprehensive picture of the 21st-century Hungarian homeland and the lives of those living there, which is increasingly becoming a tragic memento of a sinking world. One of the hundreds of caretakers in Hungary is Márta Farkas. Through the activities of a caretaker, we show the last living witnesses and representatives of the lives and struggles of survivors of everyday life in the Great Plain and the struggle for survival in everyday life and a disappearing lifestyle and peasant culture.
